Systematic research in Indian systems of medicine under the government patronage initiated with the establishment of Central Council for Research in Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (CCRIMH) as an autonomous.
Management of the Council is entrusted to a Governing body comprising of 14 Members, With Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare as its President.
The council is engaged in muldimodal research activities and has been responsible for important work in the development of Unani System of Medicine in India.
The concept of research in Unani Medicine was originally perceived by Masihul Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan in the 1920s.A versatile genius of his time, Hakim Ajmal Khan very soon realized the importance of research.
The Coucil Publishes an international quarterly scientific journal entitled “HIPPOCRATIC JOURNAL OF UNANI MEDICINE”, a Quarterly Urdu Journal – JAHAN-E-TIBB and a bi-monthly CCRUM newsletter.
